These notes are a bit disparate, but here’s what I got in terms of notes for the breakout session.
- global updates
- vendor records
- marcedit edits before loading
- load tables/profiles: pre-define templates to be applied to batches of records e.g. publisher number in 001, might match and overlay or not; can use list to isolate sets of records
- might split into smaller batches
- some ILS may not allow granular isolation of records
- want to proceduralized, but vendor may change the way they catalogued
- can use marcedit
- whether even load? when have discovery layer e.g. ebook packages
- search criteria may be different
- what’s the difference between input and output
- patron data: come up with a way to identify and de-dupe
- openrefine for editing patron or organization data
